New Orleans Rector Here The Rev. Cannon William S. Turner, Mrs. Turner and their son and daughter, Steve and Elisa, of New Orleans, are spending a week at Kanuga, following a vaca tion in Maine. Father Turner is rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in New Orleans. He and his fam ily have. spent many vacations in Tryon and they own a tract of land on White Oak Mountain upon which they hope to build some day. TIMBER ! John E. Jones, promotion di rector of The Asheville Citizen Times Co., showed a movie, on how Canadian timber is used for the making of paper Tuesday at Oak Hall at the Kiwanis meeting. The movie, presented in techni color, showed the forests with the trees being cut, sawed, hauled, marked, and then floated down streams and lakes to reach the paper, mills. Mr. Jones said that at present three out of every five sheets of newsprint come from Canada, but that in a few years The Asheville Citizen-Times Co., will be able to purchase almost all of their news print from Southern paper mills which. are now being built in Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama. Guests of the club were visiting Kiwanians Bill Reynolds, West Palm Beach, Fla., and Orville Yates of Waynesville; other guests were Judge Q. K. Nimocks, Fay etteville, Monroe Redding, Mon roe Redding Jr., of Henderson ville; William A. McFarland, Co lumbus; Ed Core, Raleigh; Troy Morris, Tryon. Seth M. Vining was in charge of the program.
